Launched in 1979, NPS features a wide range of ground-breaking products and services designed for commercial, institutional and residential installations.
This year sees a record number of entrants competing in categories ranging from access control to fire, and life safety, to video and home technologies. In addition, new categories for 2008 include: Convergence featuring blended physical and logical technologies; Critical/Mass Communications including products or technologies used to transmit mass messaging/notifications, including evacuation, annunciation systems (audio/two-way/VoIP), and intercom paging technologies; and IP devices which include logical or physical security products, or support software, that resides on a network.
Security Products will feature the winners in an upcoming issue.
The number of choices, vendors, and types of solutions is exploding. Large numbers of alternatives are normally an advantage to the buyer, but it can add much confusion when trying to make the right choice.
