June 17, 2008

ScanSource Security, a sales unit of ScanSource Inc., and distributor of electronic security products, was recently named Newcomer of the Year in North America by Axis Communications at the company’s annual awards dinner.

ScanSource Security was recognized for its abundant educational offerings for the dealer community; its accessible, highly trained sales team; and the value and opportunity brought to Axis Communications in a short period of time.

“As one of Axis Communications’ newest distribution partners, we are very excited to be recognized in this manner,” said Tony Sorrentino, vice president of merchandising, ScanSource Security. “Axis has been a great partner to us and their network video products have been a valuable addition to our solution offering.”

“In our two-tier channel model, having strong partnerships and open lines of communications on all levels, is key for mutual success in the fast-growing network video market,” said Fredrik Nilsson, general manager of Axis Communications. “We congratulate ScanSource on receiving the Axis Communications 2007 North American Newcomer of the year award for outstanding efforts growing and educating the reseller community about network video.”

ScanSource Security exclusively serves the reseller community and is committed to never competing with its dealer or reseller partners. The company offers access control, surveillance/CCTV, wireless infrastructure, intrusion and identification products.
